Tamarack Nature Center

Just up the road from our old house in White Bear Lake is a nature center.  When Evie was small, she was able to take preschool classes there.  We loved it because we tromped through the woods every class.
Recently, they added a nature park area.  Instead of the traditional playsets, they created natural looking play areas.  Like this rock climbing wall. It was probably 7-8 feet tall but I never saw a kid fall off.  And that sky?  That was rain rolling in.  we sometimes forget what rain looks like around here.

I was super impressed by this park and after being here, this was the only place the girls wanted to visit in Minnesota.  I think we could have stayed here all week.

Evie climbed to the top of the wall with no problem.

There were built in steps, caves and tunnels too.

Our little model found all kinds of places to pose.

What a little cheeseball.

They also have a children's garden complete with solar power. That's what this big palm tree is--solar panels.

The girls take a quick break on a log bench.

The third area was a wooded theme.  I really liked the log pathway.

and there were a bunch of sticks and logs to build whatever you could imagine.

This is my favorite pose after a long day of playing.
