It's been a quiet week around here. The normal stuff has been happening. Jim has been out of town, I have been shuttling the kiddos to school, gymnastics, swimming lessons, etc. And the girls have been attending all lessons. We did complete a major milestone last weekend and I am happy to say that I think we are both finally recovered as I can now walk down the stairs without the aid of the handrail. Jim and I both ran the Indy 500 Festival Mini Marathon. That's 13.1 miles through the scenic west side of Indy to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and back. There were a couple other people that ran too. Like 35,000 other people. This is the shot at the start. Can you spot us?
On the race course, they had several photographers taking your pic. We just received the email with our pictures so I wanted to share them with you. This is Jim crossing the yard of bricks at the speedway. I stopped to kiss the bricks, but it wasn't captured on film. Notice that this race is so fun, that Jim's feet barely touched the ground.
Here's me crossing the finish line. Strong and smiling and not riding a stretcher. A year ago, if you told me I would run this race, I would say that you are crazy and go back to eating my ice cream. Now I'm actually considering doing it again. Incidently, my offical finish time was 2:02.59. Jim was 1:43.

The utlimate reward--leaning against a pace car. Love it. We also had a beer at the end but a 6 oz Mich Ultra doesn't quench my thirst. Probably because I"m no Lance Armstrong.
