Happy Mother's Day

And what a wonderful day it has been. This morning, I lounged around in bed until the ripe hour of 8 am. It was then that three heads appeared with my breakfast on a tray. What a luxurious way to start the day. I was served baked oatmeal, a scone, frest orange slices, juice and coffee. And while everyone watched me eat, I managed not to spill any coffee or get too many crumbs in the bed.
What a nice way to wake up. I also opened some wonderful gifts. Then we decided to go to Target and finally get Evie a new bike. We had to take it out for a spin, so we had a family bike ride. The day rounded out with a nap, lots of visiting with neighbors, planting some flowers, and a marshmellow roast. What a great mother's day.

Evie made this card for me. Looks kind of like me except I have arms.

If it wasn't mother's day, this would be our highlight of the day. We recently found out that we live around the corner from Indy royalty. Our neighbor is a Indy 500 Festival princess! She gets a crown and everything! She gets to make lots of appearances this month at schools and children's hospitals. She is competing for a college scholarship. Perhaps even more exciting than the scholarship (at least for me) is that she gets to meet all the race car drivers and has all access at the speedway! Well, and there is the crown too.
