Our sweet Evie is now 8 and having lots of fun with all her presents. She is sometimes hard to get attention from when she is deeply involved in a book.
The birthday balloon for this one! Good thing Dad's birthday was just a few days later to use the same balloon.
Jim wanted Indian feast for his birthday so we loaded up the car for Patel Brothers. The premier Indian grocery chain here in the USA. We found lots of wonderful things including chikoos (which were horrible and rock hard). I was so excited to use my skill to make a meal. Unfortunately, when the day rolled around, Jim threw his back out again AND came down with the stomache virus that was making the rounds. His birthday dinner consisted of saltines and ginger ale. He did recover enough by the weekend to celebrate with some of our neighbors over a pint and a bowl of chili.
I made this sweet little sweater for Annalise. It fits her just right now so it will probably be in June or Tessa's collection next winter.
Evie had a delayed birthday present from Mom and Dad come in the mail. It was a zip line. Since installing this, every kid on our street is in the yard every day after school. I'm happy to report no injuries so far.
We also had the pleasure of Flat Stanely coming for a visit from White Bear Lake. Laura sent him to us and we showed him what Indiana winters are like.
Including a ride on the zip line.
And a chance to see our crocuses in bloom.
I tried to quietly take this picture from the window. This is the crop of kids on our street. I"m not sure what they were doing (I hope not playing spin the bottle) but they seem to have a great time together. It's going to be another fun summer.
